Workplace Violence Prevention
FOR EMERGENCIES OR CRIMES IN PROGRESS CALL 9-1-1
BE ADVISED:
Submitting a workplace violence report via the UC Workplace Violence Online Reporting portal is NOT considered a police report.
At Berkeley Lab, we are committed to creating a workplace where all employees feel safe and respected. A violence-free environment is not just a necessity but a fundamental right for everyone. Maintaining a workplace free from violence is crucial and our Lab plan for workplace violence prevention supports this commitment to employee well-being and a positive work culture.
Our Lab Plan for Workplace Violence Prevention is designed to ensure the safety of our community and is also consistent with a California state law that requires every employer to establish, implement, and maintain an effective Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (California Labor Code, Section 6401.9).
All members of the Lab community have an obligation to help maintain a safe work environment. Acts or Threats of workplace violence behavior must be reported. The Lab shall maintain the confidentiality of workplace violence investigations to the extent possible. Employees may report workplace violence without fear of reprisal or retaliation.
If there is an immediate threat of violence call 911.
Other acts or threats of violence that do not present an immediate emergency situation should be reported via the UC Workplace Violence Online Reporting portal. You will need to log on using your Lab ID. For questions regarding reporting or additional information on incidents of workplace violence, please contact the Workplace Violence Prevention Program Administrator at workplaceviolenceprevention@lbl.gov.
